The "Sanibel stoop"---hunting for shells at Lighthouse Beach. PG photo.

When you come off the causeway to Sanibel Island, turn left and drive about 10 minutes to get the the Lighthouse Beach.  It is a pristine white beach where there is shelling, fishing, swimming and pelican watching. We were there yesterday, and a large number of dolphins were zipping around in a feeding frenzy. The Sanibel Lighthouse is a  unique place, and there is a fishing pier.
