Yesterday, December 30, about 1,000 people lined up at the library to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Many spent long hours or even overnight outdoors waiting. Most brought folding chairs.
But, according to the News-Press, a system of scheduling the injections is on the horizon. Software is being perfected that would allow those who are receiving preference, such as seniors, to make an appointment for the shot. A concern is that all the hits on the site would cause it to shut down. Hopefully the software designers will be able to overcome that potential problem.
Note that there is no truth to the rumor that only Florida citizens can get the shot. This is a federal program, and anyone who qualifies will be able to be vaccinated, even those who are from out of the country.
