Venus de Milo: a work of art from ancient Greece, now living in Paris.

Paul Goldfinger at the Louvre in Paris.
This is Venus de Milo. 150 bc but still looking good.

This ancient Greek sculpture is from about 150 b.c.   She is the Goddess of Love and Beauty.  She also proves the danger of nail biting

We visited the Louvre in Paris where there were two works of art that everyone had to see:    Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo.  There were crowds, so I think we left after that.  I can tell you that Mona Lisa is still smiling.

Frankie Avalon had his biggest hit (1959) with “Venus.”  He appeared in the Great Auditorium of Ocean Grove, NJ  with Bobby Rydell and Fabian in August 2012.  The show was called “The Golden Boys.”

It was Frankie who advised teen-age boys about girls who change from bobby sox to stockings.
